♥ What drives me?!

Last Updated: 17 August 2017

1. Chasing the sweetness in Life

I think it’s important to have a motivation in life. It doesn’t matter what you are after but ultimately it should be what that truly makes you, YOU and makes you happy.

My life goal is simple. Just to be HAPPY!

Why does it sound so unbelievable to some, I will never understand. LOL!

“Often people attempt to live their lives backwards; they try to have more things, or more money, in order to do more of what they want, so they will be happier. The way it actually works is the reverse. You must first be who you really are, then do what you need to do, in order to have what you want”. ~Margaret Young

2. Food

I really enjoy eating and cooking (sometimes, I get lazy). When I’m travelling, I am constantly looking for interesting local delicacies and sharing with you my amateur opinion.

I also love dining out and experiencing new venues. This includes attending foodies events too.

3. Photography

I don’t even remember when my love for photography starts anymore. I just do.

I hope that one day I’ll be able to showcase some of my best images in galleries and make them available for purchase.

4. Travel

Travel is constantly full of surprises. It sparks all the different senses that we usually neglect in our own environment. Reminding us of who we are and where we are in the current moment in times.

5. Charm Bracelet

My charm bracelet has become my own personal reminder to what I want and love in life. So, I don’t buy charm per-random but what it actually means to me.

6. Me – I drive myself~nutz!

“Just when I think I have learned the way to live, life changes”.  ~Hugh Prather

7. Excitement of Life & Desire

“The human race is governed by its imagination”. ~Napoleon

8. Window seat – LOL!

I enjoy window seat because I enjoy taking in the view and watching the world go by. Makes me dream!

However, nowadays when I travel on a plane, I tend to take the aisle seat because I hate having to ask someone to get up whenever I need to take a walk or going to the washroom. But, window seat is still my top preference.

9. Receiving Hand-Written Mails in the old fashion Letter Box!

It’s so sad that people can’t seem to find the time to write anymore. I think hand-written mails are much more personal and genuine. It’s takes time and effort. And, most importantly, there will never be 2 hand written mail that are the same.

I treasure those handwritten mails.

Interesting read: History of handwritten letters

10. The Beach and the sound of the wave

“The three great elemental sounds in nature are the sound of rain, the sound of wind in a primeval wood, and the sound of outer ocean on a beach” –  Henry Beston

11. Constant moving! [I can’t stay in one place too long]

I enjoy moving not because I don’t enjoy stability. But I think by moving, it give me a chance to reinvent myself. A new place and a new environment sparks new senses in life. Keeps me motivated and keep me going.

12. Being Free

“The secret of happiness is freedom. The secret of freedom is courage.” – Thucydides

13. Train Rides

If I have a choice, I’ll choose to travel by train any time than taking the plane. I don’t know why but I always find TRAINS and Railway stations to be exciting. There’s just something magical about it.

    1. Watching the world pass by outside my window
    2. Seeing the world outside changes before your eyes
    3. People watching
    4. The sound of the train moving
    5. More environmental friendly
    6. More space to move around and stretch your legs compared to planes or buses

14. Nature especially when I am around the mountains and water (lake, sea, river, waterfall)

As cheesy as it may sound, but I felt I am stronger and alive when I am in the nature. Being in a concrete jungle, makes me feel lost and so tiny.

15. Reading / Books – Currently, mostly Historical Fiction

Reading has always been my closest companion. It doesn’t matter where, how, what and when but when I read; I am transported to another place, another time and even experiencing another life.

It gave me courage when I need it the most.

It gave me comfort when I am down.

It gave me love when I am lack of it.

It gave me a chance of getaway to come back and face the real world yet again.

16. Technology – I appreciate them but don’t rely on them

I am a bit of a tech. geek and gadget addict. That I got to admit. I appreciate technologies, gadgets and new media that the world had brought to us. Technologies should always help to enhance our life but should never become something we relies on.

I never let technology gets in my way of living.

17. The sound of nature

It makes me feel the life around me. It’s better than any music human can create in the world.

18.  Watching Movies

I think perhaps it had something to do with my previous career or maybe not. I enjoy watching movies very much. I watches all sort of genre except horror.

19. Comfortable Silence

Comfortable silence is the time when 2 people are able to sit together without speaking and can be completely at ease and comfortable with one another (friends, partners, family or anyone else)

20. Library

The library has always been my little secret hideaway.

We have so much in common!! Perhaps we should become pen pals since I also love receiving letters in the mail. It’s a shame no one writes to each other anymore. Did I mention that I also love nature, train rides, travelling (of course), and food? Add reading books to the list and you could be my twin 😉
